About Us

Kate
This is Kate.  She's a natural-born storyteller and loves to treat friends and family (and strangers too) to wild and vast stories of untold embellishment detail.  When she's not talking to people, she watches 1990s movies with her cat, runs with a broken leg, and does good things for other people.  She's a fan of roasting vegetables, public health, cheesy pop music, and hockey.  She is terrified of fish and fireworks. When she goes to the store to buy a bag of coffee, she picks the first one she sees.  In sum, she's not one to dilly dally with decision making.  She wears her heart on her sleeve, which may or may not have led her to cry in a Thai restaurant and the frozen food section of the grocery store.  But we won't hold that against her (often).  On the whole, she's a fairly lovely person.

Aaron

This is Aaron.  He doesn't much like to be the center of attention, and doesn't talk unless he has something to say.  For Aaron, there's no better way to pass the time than to watch a Twins game.  He has very particular tastes and mannerisms, which range from music, to what floss he uses, to how to get to work.  A decision is a chance for a deliberate weighing of pros and cons, including the choice between the burger or the chicken sandwich in a restaurant.  He likes to ride his bike, and may or may not own three five of them.  Among his prized possessions are a hand-built lightsaber, a Bob Dylan poster that watches over him when he sleeps, and a silver trombone.  And oh yes, he hates cats.  Generally though, he's well-liked.

Supposedly, two folks who shouldn't have much in common.  But although Kate is less than thrilled at the prospect of 20+ games at Target Field each summer, and Aaron groans at the thought of watching hockey, they can both agree that attending 43 Timberwolves games is a great idea!  Aaron still hates Kate's cat, but they are both enjoy hanging out with their odd greyhound, Basil.  They like to spend time in the great outdoors, and Kate only marginally complains when Aaron wants to climb a mountain.  Aaron listens to Kate's many stories, and she will occasionally let him talk.  Thanks to Kate's family, Aaron is increasing his tolerance for red meat, and thanks to Aaron's, Kate is learning the peculiar subculture of Minnesota Lutheranism (including her role on the church softball team).  The two share an appreciation for urban living (Aaron may or may not own a pair of skinny jeans) and a deep love for all things Minnesotan.  They are committed to commuting by bike as often as possible and have each put hundreds of miles on their bicycles this summer. They're both bleeding heart liberals.  Perhaps most importantly, they are pretentious beer snobs who love exploring the growing craft beer scene in the Twin Cities.  And generally speaking, they get along pretty well.

So all in all, they're a good match.  Guess that's why they're getting married!
